New buildings for 2014

During 2014 we will receive 4 new classrooms, a new music building and renovations to Block 5 to ensure there are four Prep rooms. There will also be significant renovations to the English as a Second Language area too. The proposal for the siting of the 4 classrooms, which will be contained within two new buildings, is for the area below where the current Year 6/7 buildings are. The most likely area is where the current 6/7 playground is. As part of this program, the school will be provided with some additional funds to build a new playground within this area.

The area chosen for these buildings ensures the least impact within the school while allowing new buildings to be linked by covered walkways to existing buildings. The siting of these buildings will necessitate the removal of some trees with all but one being gum trees which have had in the past the propensity to drop limbs. Once the buildings have been erected, we will be undertaking a tree planting program to revitalise this area.

Mr Creedon (Principal) is most happy to talk with any member of the school community about the existing developments or the building program and any implications with regards to the sittings of these classroom buildings. These four classrooms will be ready for the 2014 school year.

In terms of the other projects these will be undertaken during 2014 with a final completion date of November 2014. Further new with regards to these projects will be advised as it becomes available.
