QOKA Reading Program

27/04/2016
Snr Constable Rob Edwards

Last Friday, 22nd April, we welcomed QUOTA president, Mrs Jeni Neary and her team of QUOTA volunteers along with Sergeant Brendan Ryan, Snr Constable Rob Edwards and Constable Katy as well as Mr John McVeigh to our Prep Teddy Bear’s Picnic. QUOTA Toowoomba are running the QOCKA reading program with our Prep students this term. Each child in Prep was presented with their very own book and a second copy of the book was donated to the school library. Once the children received their story, they then had some time to read it to their teddy bear. The children were very excited about receiving their book and thoroughly enjoyed reading them to their teddies.
This is a wonderful project where the QUOTA members, together with a Police Officer will come every Friday to read each child’s story to them. The children are looking forward to this.
A very big thank you to QUOTA Toowoomba, our local Police Officers and Mr McVeigh for their time and for bringing this project to our school with the aim to support our children with developing their love of reading and books.
