Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is a full-time program and children attend from 8:45am–3pm.
Children must be 5 by 30th June in the year they enrol. To determine when your child can commence their prep year, use the

Starting/transitioning to school
Each year, Darling Heights State School has a prep information evening held at the end of Term 3. This session will explain aspects of the prep program and provide hints for a successful transition to prep.
Throughout Term 4, students will be invited to small group sessions. In the last week of Term 4, a 'Get Set for Prep' morning program will be organised for your enrolled child to experience the prep setting.
